- Electoral map from the 2012 presidential election shows a majority of American counties voted GOP, or red. Many Americans question how Obama could have been re-elected with the literal majority of counties voting GOP. The secession movement which immediately erupted right after the election may be related to many questioning the fairness of the election results. The map would indicate that a minority of states, counties and cities which voted DNC re-elected Barack Obama, a result that would appear to defy precinct results.

Granted, this is a really strange story and I have no idea what implications it holds for the country. I found the story buried in a list of YT videos last Sunday. At that time 15 states had filed online petitions. The drive to request “secession” began with Texas based secessionist leader Daniel Miller, who has been the most vocal about Texas’s longstanding secession fantasies. By day two 30 more states were represented online at http://petitions.whitehouse.gov with secession petitions. By day three the number went to 37, then 50. There has been practically no TV news coverage of the fledgling “secession movement” and spotty, sporadic coverage of the development on internet news sites. It was because I noted that I chose to follow the development for several days exclusively. Matt Drudge saw what I was seeing, and noted on http://drudgereport.com “Secession Movement Explodes” on 11.14.2012. Still not a peep out of the MSM on it. In fact, the airwaves have been so completely dominated by the Patraeus scandal it almost seemed the scandal was being used as a national distraction. Oh but I must be mislead about that. The Big Media outlets would never do that sort of thing, you know, use one big breaking story to hide and obfuscate another one that they don’t want to go any farther. What was I thinking? Anyway ….
What this all means is unclear. These petitions are not being filed by state officials. They are being filed by private citizens. The movement has been met with ridicule and open mockery by all kinds of people and pundits lampooning it from all sorts of positions in society. I was parked at my laptop just about 24/7 on “secession” until late yesterday The Daily Caller reported that persons from all 50 states had now filed secession petitions. It wasn’t just critical mass, it was some sort of deluge of extremely unhappy discontented American citizens, and they were obviously expressing their displeasure via petitioning. It’s been the first time in American history that within 10 days of a presidential election that citizens from all 50 states filed petitions to secede from the United States Union. That is HUGE news and there is not a peep being reported about it on mainstream outlets. Doesn’t that bother anyone else? It bothers me so deeply I decided to follow the secession petition movement and nothing else for about 4-5 days.
If readers notice that signature counts on these petitions continue to rise, and yet not a word is reported about this story on MSM news outlets, you had better realize the magnitude of state sponsored censorship in effect and understand the implications.
Stories and events that the White House wishes would go away are eliminated from the TV and radio news reporting scripts. That’s social engineering of public opinion via overt censorship. That is another way of suppressing the voice of We the People. And apparently contingencies within “We the People” are really furious, taking out their fury by literally petitioning to secede.
I have no way of knowing what it implies, except that I don’t think it will be a good thing. And I don’t think this is going to go away. In fact, the more Big Media ignores it, the worse it’s going to get, and the more those signature numbers are going to climb. It’s the hard math of national anger that’s getting bigger than “red” or “blue” representation. Late yesterday six states had reached far more than the 25,000 required signatures, and several more were close.
Cited from The Daily Caller:
Cited: The leader of a secessionist group in Texas said Tuesday that a petition on the White House website to separate the state from the nation is growing in popularity because the “union has fundamentally changed.”
“The fact of the matter is, that there cannot be a union between those that esteem the principles of Karl Marx over the principles of Thomas Jefferson.”
To date, Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and North Carolina have all reached the 25,000 signatures needed to warrant an official response from the Obama White House. On 11.14.2012 the states of Idaho, Maryland, Washington and Connecticut filed secession petitions, bringing the total number of states to 37.
11.14.2012 – At least 36 states are presently represented by secession petitions.
As of 1:45 pm pacific time, November 14th, the following are the states petition links and their signature counts:
Louisiana, 33,614; Texas, 100,260; Florida, 29,832; Alabama, 27,176; North Carolina, 26,540; Kentucky, 16,212; Mississippi, 15,991; Indiana, 17,877; North Dakota, 10,328; Montana, 11,857; Colorado, 18,893; Oregon, 12,966; New Jersey, 12,465; New York, 13,436; South Carolina, 20,716; Arkansas, 19,851; Georgia, 28,221; Missouri 17,029; Tennessee, 27,023; Michigan, 16,864; Oklahoma, 15,803; Nevada, 8,820; Arizona, 19,014; Pennsylvania, 11,320; Delaware, 6,659; South Dakota, 5,187; Nebraska, 5,720; Kansas, 6,827; Alaska, 6,598; California, 11,469; Utah, 6,978; West Virginia, 6,036; Wyoming, 7,439; Connecticut 1,079; Maryland 1,329; Washington 1,157; Idaho [ count not yet available ]
Earlier this week I wrote:
It’s been a hectic 48 hours. On Sunday afternoon I spotted a YT video that reported citizens from 15 states had petitioned to peacefully secede from the United States. “Odd news item,” was my only thought. I posted it. 24 hours later, the list of petitions had grown to 30 states. Today it’s at 36 states.
Is the Secession Movement Real or Is It Conservative Political Theater?
The sudden state secession petition phenomenon may or may not mean anything other than a very large “pay attention to what we are saying” political foot stomp by conservative voters, but the civil action certainly caught fire fast enough. Texas had acquired their required 25,000 votes within a day and their petition now has more than 100,000 signatures.
Ron Paul reminded reporters who queried him that the United States originally began with it’s 13 colonies seceding from the British government more than 200 years ago, a point well taken. But one of the biggest conservative political loudmouths in the nation, Sean Hannity, has come out with the cowardly position that although he sympathizes with the petitioners, he does not endorse secession. How odd. Sean Hannity has only been shouting at the top of his lungs his contempt for the “Marxist Socialist Obama administration” [ Hannity's words ] since January 20th 2009. I believe Mr. Hannity has now been outed as a true political hypocrite and possibly as spineless as well.
Here’s Sean Hannity speaking on secession in 2009:
Noteworthy is a Supreme Court Case docket from 1869 [ Texas vs. White ] which ruled that states may not secede from the Union, but that ruling is more than 100 years old, and times have obviously changed. I wouldn’t dare wager as to how the Supreme Court would rule on this issue in today’s polarized political climate.
I would advise observers who are naming calling the secession petitioning of states as “racist” to drop the tired adolescent name calling. Anyone who can balance a personal checkbook knows our nation is teetering on the edge of absolute fiscal catastrophe and that has nothing whatsoever to do with race. It does have everything to do with GOVERNANCE [ or the lack thereof. ] I have no reason to believe that Barack Obama will do anything other than continue to turn on the Federal printing presses for four more years to inject enough money into the economy to put on the show of a false economic recovery. I would surmise that many fiscal conservatives, like myself, might sign a secession petition just to make a statement that spending more borrowed money at the multitrillion dollar level is a recipe for the death of the nation.
Cited: “I am completely aware that Election Day was a catalyzing moment, but I do not believe that the underpinnings of this are solely about Barack Obama,” Texas Nationalist Movement president Daniel Miller told POLITICO. “This cake has been baking for a long time — it’s the Obama administration that put the candles on the cake and lit it for us.”
These petitions may possibly set the national stage for an official airing of grievances at least. A possible national election recount is not completely out of the question according to some. You can sign the petition to ask for a national presidential vote recount here.

“Is this simply the product of a few thousand discontents in each individual state? Perhaps. But Texas’ petition has over 40,000 signatures, well over the 25,000 necessary to reach the attention of the President. If this turns out to be more than the discontented murmurings of a single state, this story may get ugly.”
A total of 33 States have filed online petitions to peacefully secede from the United States. Keep track of the growing list of states here: https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petitions
Cited: “The White House may opt out of replying. Under its own rules, “To avoid the appearance of improper influence, the White House may decline to address certain procurement, law enforcement, adjudicatory, or similar matters properly within the jurisdiction of federal departments or agencies, federal courts, or state and local government in its response to a petition.”
Excerpt from the Texas secession petition:
“The US continues to suffer economic difficulties stemming from the federal government’s neglect to reform domestic and foreign spending. The citizens of the US suffer from blatant abuses of their rights such as the NDAA, the TSA, etc. Given that the state of Texas maintains a balanced budget and is the 15th largest economy in the world, it is practically feasible for Texas to withdraw from the union, and to do so would protect it’s citizens’ standard of living and re-secure their rights and liberties in accordance with the original ideas and beliefs of our founding fathers which are no longer being reflected by the federal government.”
#Secede and #Secession are trending on Twitter and reports state that Texas is has achieved their 25,000 signature mark with more than 74,000 signatures as of 11.13.2012, thus leading the charge that will require an official response from the Obama White House. You can also follow @TexasTribune for more breaking news on the Texas secession petition.
Other observations on the secession matter …
Maybe alleged time traveler John Titor was right after all. Years ago a mysterious personage began posting messages to Usenet [ remember Usenet? ] telling the internet community that he was a time traveler returning from the future, specifically the year 2036. He told astounded web citizens on Usenet that he had traveled back in time to locate an obscure piece of computer equipment that was desperately needed in the future, and to warn people in the present of certain coming events. Titor told a stunned and frankly disbelieving internet audience that there was a civil war in America’s near future, [ his recent past ] and went on to describe how this conflict ripped the country in half, and what came later.
So you can imagine my astonishment when I found about a half dozen news sites reporting that at least 20 states have filed petitions to secede from the US last night. I’m still not sure if this is a GOP protest prank or a real movement, but the petitions are real. They are posted on the White House website, and at least two of them have more than 10,000 signatures already: Louisiana and Texas.
It’s not difficult to foresee that the financial implications of approaching new Obama regulations, Obamacare and the coming January 1st expiration of Bush tax cuts will all soon converge into an imminent perfect storm of fiscal overload. I think this coming fiscal tsunami is forcing many states to consider drastic options for their own financial and political survival. That may be at least one reason for a fledgling secession movement which has garnered petitions from 33 states to date. I would note also that I have seen news stories indicating some pretty serious voter fraud from November 6th, so many of the petitioners may want a recount of the vote if they feel the 2012 presidential election might have been rigged for Obama. I can only speculate, as all of this is such a sudden new development.
Texas has already garnered more than 100,000 signatures as of 11.14.2012. Someone on the internet has already created a speculative “map of the future USA” which shows what a fractured union might look like. The map fails to factor in that both California and Oregon have filed petitions to secede and their signature counts are rising. The map is a sad looking sight, and I hope it doesn’t come to this. An airing of political grievances over voter fraud is one thing. A recount request is reasonable. A 21st century war of recession is a horrible prospect.
